When I Saw You Standing There
(To Stephen R. Singleton~ June 16, 2005)
Nothing fell deeper
than little ole me
when you took those eyes
and stared them back at me
Like sun rays of hope
you only gave one stare
but the strength you sprayed
gave hope to so many a prayer
You were a sky high tower
built with intensity and care
sheltering all of us around you
leading us to safe air
Nothing felt safer
than the touch of you
your words of wisdom
pulling us through
No fight was harder
than when that sneaky smile glared
I would try to be so mad
your smile always left you spared
Words never flowed
like they did from your lip
nothing but truth spread
into my trusting grip
Love never was more apparent
until I laid in bed with you
Twirling my hair as you whispered
Princess I love you
Your laugh was quiet
but left a roar
Sometimes unnoticeable
just made us appreciate it more
Your voice was quiet
straining for your sound
it echoed your gentle heart
that I am so glad I found
No matter where we stand
your hand caressed my back
it was the hand the held me up
and kept me steered on the right track
Never selfish or self centered
even in your last day
You took care of our broken hearts
even as you were slipping away
Never will your loved ones
meet a man of your quality
nothing can surpass the love
you left with your family
Words seem so trivial
to the depths of what was you
Syllables don't measure up
to the man inside of you
Dedication is the first words
that I would throw out in air
but nothing can describe the emotion
I feel when I put it out there
Words compiled into a poem
can never match the likeness of you
You were too great of a man
for rhymes to sum up the soul of you
I speak from my heart
though it may fall on insignificant air
I never knew the greatness of love
until I saw you standing there
Everything meant more
because we took in the same air
Love was greater and more powerful
as we exchanged our deep stare
Nothing was more apparent
then the jolt shocked through me
when you leaned in for the first step
planting a kiss on the lips of me
Nothing will erase the night glare
or the feeling of belonging somewhere
My life began that star crossed night
when I saw you standing there
I never knew my full worth
until you made me see
I wouldn't be who I am today
if you hadn't loved me
These mere words don't compare
to the memory trailing behind you
I wish the pain and emotion felt
would prove how much we loved you
I feel the stars fall on me
each and every night
I see that one star
winking so bright
I wonder if it is you
trying to push me along
being the unselfish man again
trying to make me strong
I know you have received your wings
you were handed them at heaven's door
you kept this pained woman alive with your love
there's no need for heaven to make you do more
Love will still surround your name
you will always be in our heart
god may be almighty
but even heaven can't keep our love apart
It's Okay To Say Good Bye
(Stavo June 16, 2005)
I loved you Steve
please don't fight for me
it is time to say farewell
don't stay just for me
Set on your cloud love
do what you don't do best
let yourself hover in peace
let your spirit have a rest
It is time for you now
rest your angel wing
Hear my voice sparkle
when to you I sing
It's time to go now
we'll be okay
let him take away the pain
that has filled your last few day
Close your eyes
you made me feel your love
now watch over me baby
only now from above
I can feel your hand
let it release
I feel your last breath
baby you're in peace
(His favorite poem)
Sinned Sheet
Soft lip touch
gentle hand on my thigh
sweet I love you
passion in your eye
Fingernails dig deep
as pleasure runs through
legs wrap around
the sweat filled skin of you
Breath leaves moisture
on seething neck line
moans echo in the night
As our bodies intertwine
Love pours out
panting in heat
soaking in the midnight
of our sinned sheet
Widow Of Denial
I just want to sit
stare at you all day
wait for you to move closer
pick me up and take me away
Run through the rainbows
we discuss in pillow talk
swim in the crystal sands
between our toes on our morning walk
Ride the raindrop
that trickle softly within
freeze the orgasmic push
that overpowers our skin
Daydream in the daisies
that lay outside our window
anything to escape the truth
of being a thirty year old widow
Give Him Back
Reached for you tonight
I held onto thin air
Seems so long ago
Since you were there
My arms dropped
my disappointment sigh
Another reminder
another day to cry
My head drops
reality of defeat
Skin blazed in chills
spirits of no body heat
My heart nurses
another crack
Longing for heaven
to give you back

Sad Sister Walking
Sad sister walking
down the street of despair
extra body mass
ratted and dirty hair
No ambition lay
within her troubled soul
doesn't know the first step
in making herself feel whole
Keeps her head down
doesn't look anyone in the eye
one step in front of the other
is how she gets by
Sad sister walking
life and heaven apart
getting hard to carry
this broken heart
