Pain Always Last

You can take away the memory
you can take away my past
but I still feel the damn pain
that always seems to last

You can take away a face
leave it with no name
but the pain still resides in me
it will always be the same

You can take away my safety
that I felt in my friend
I will rebuild them all again
friendship will never end

You can take away my heart
try to stop my love flow
but his love still pumps in me
this my heart still does know

You can take away my thoughts
that I had built up inside
it wont change the years I fought
or the nights I sat and cried

My pain still boils up in my chest
I just feel it in another place
my head doesn't hold it anymore
you'll still see the hurt on my face

This wasn't for the better
This wasn't a blessing in disguise
When I look in the mirror
I can still see the pain in my eyes

Take away my memory
I don't need to remember the past
I can feel it in my shattered heart
My pain will always last
